This bill attempts to ban freedom of speech and restrict a person from disclosing that they are trained in Chinese Herbology unless they are a member of a very small select group of people, not including many wonderfully trained herbalists in Illinois.

The bill prohibits a person from saying that they are trained in Chinese Herbology unless they are a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine or a substantially equivalent status approved by the Department or proof that he or she has successfully completed the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Chinese Herbology Examination or a substantially equivalent examination approved by the Department.

This bill is a freedom of speech infringement as well as a freedom of education infringement and an attempt by the acupuncture profession to use their licensing law to create an exclusive market and practice of Chinese Herbology, an age ole traditional profession and option for consumers.
